It has been a while since I’ve sat with you in this little blue room with any words to light the fire or beckon the sun through the tall window. Not for lack of thinking about this space.

Between a new job and new ideas bubbling up, my fingers have been busy with weaving words in new ways. I’ve been pondering how habits become hardened in a good way—solidified stretches of path, bridges over turbulent waters. I want more sturdy habits, and I’ve been working on a few. They take time to take root.
They also can be helped by being shared. When I am in community, I am accountable, and more inspired to really lean in to what we are doing together—the synergy of synchronous work.
In that light, I’ve been building something. Designing, arranging, growing an idea that will come to life in January. I’m calling it Winter Seeds: Margin for Making.
Winter is hard. I love winter, but it is hard, and maybe your heart is already a little weary as the days darken and winds bite with a few more teeth. Maybe the time, especially after the holidays, holds a dreary dread in it. It does a little for me. The combination of memories of grief and the bleakness of winter sometimes weighs heavy even before the time actually comes. Maybe we can look our dread in the face and move toward something more beautiful.
Maybe Winter Seeds is as much for me as it is for you.
It will be a way to begin the year together, planting a habit for the 25 days following Epiphany. I’ve designed it with artists and makers in mind, but we’re all made in the Creator’s creative image, so anyone is welcome who wants to come along.
Quick Overview
should take 15-20 minutes a day for 25 days
inspiration from words, art (of all kinds) + Scripture
invitation to respond with thanks, reflection, or creation/making
interaction with community of others practicing the same habit
$10 to participate
I’ll be posting again soon to share more details on what this looks like and how to sign up! In the meantime, I hope you can find margin in your day to look at something beautiful and know the Maker better for it.
